The Opportunity
We are searching for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to join our team remotely. You will play a critical role in safeguarding our network infrastructure, ensuring its stability and security.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage secure network configurations for routers, firewalls, switches, and wireless controllers (WLCs).
- Perform regular firmware upgrades for network devices (routers, firewalls, switches, and WLCs).
- Troubleshoot and resolve network security incidents efficiently.
- Design and propose technical solutions to customer needs while prioritizing security best practices.
- Lead and provide technical support to an L1 network security engineer team.
- Manage and monitor network security using tools like SolarWinds.
- Collaborate effectively with customer network teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Develop reports and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed.
- Maintain and update existing network security documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of experience in network and security administration.
- CCNA or CCNP certification (or equivalent).
- Strong working knowledge of network monitoring tools, including SolarWinds.
- In-depth expertise in Cisco network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless).
- Mandatory Skills:
- Proven experience with Meraki firewalls, switches, and wireless solutions.
- Proficiency in Palo Alto firewalls with GCP Cloud integration.
- Network Technologies:
- Routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, RIP, Static)
- Switching protocols (VTP, STP, RSTP)
- VPN technologies (Remote Access, Site-to-Site, DMVPN)
- Cloud Technologies:
- Experience with GCP Cloud (mandatory)
- Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Scripting experience with Python
- Experience in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices
- Proven experience in incident management, service request management, and problem-solving
- Experience with ticketing systems
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, TCP/IP, UDP)
- Familiarity with ITIL processes
